Staying focused at home with Back to the Garden Childcare

At Back to the Garden Childcare in Broadheath, Altrincham, we know staying focused is one of the toughest jobs out there! That’s why we’ve put together some ways you can keep attention spans long and your brain fed while learning and working from home!

n

1. Nutritious and delicious focusing food

n

Sticking to a healthy balanced diet as best possible while everyone is home learning and working will help you to stay focused and help brain function! Nature provides us with the right foods for the right seasons, so incorporating lots of colourful seasonal fruit and vegetables will help, as well as delicious fish to feed your brain.

n

2. Making things fun with themes

n

By incorporating the latest thing children love into their day of learning, it helps to keep them engaged and enhances their own learning and thinking. From counting dinosaurs, to drawing their favourite Disney princesses; building rockets, to potting their own plants. A child’s imagination means the possibilities are endless.

3. Stay hydrated

n

Drinking lots of water is great for boosting attention! Infusing water with frozen fruits such as slices of lemon or frozen blueberries makes it a fun treat and adds extra vitamin intake throughout the day.

n

4. Remove as much distraction as possible!

n

We know how difficult it can be to not get distracted or to keep attention while at home, but removing distractions such as iPads and toys for the time being helps to bring that focus back in, and it’s nice to work towards a break in the day where children can play with those distractions once work has been done!

n

5. Have a change of scene now and then

n

Having a change of scene now and then stimulates the brain and makes it feel like a fresh start! Which in turn helps you and your children focused and interested in what they’re doing. Using the outdoors as much as possible in this case also helps everyone to get some fresh air!
