In October, we had the privilege of hosting the BBC for a discussion on the topic of ‘women returners’ and society’s perceptions regarding when children are ready to be separated from their parents in order for them to return to work.
This episode features the heartfelt story of Janette Manrara and Ali Ash from Strictly Come Dancing, who discuss their parenting and work choices (and the opinions they received for the choices they made) after the arrival of their daughter, Lyra.
Our nursery manager, Alison, a dedicated mother of twins, opened up about her inspiring journey of returning to work and any resistance she came across.
The segment also features some of our wonderful nursery parents sharing their stories too.
Ultimately, our discussion reminded us that there are diverse family models and various working situations, and what’s right for one may not be ideal for another. The key is to find the plan that suits you and your family best. We’d love to hear your thoughts on this.
Catch the insightful segment and interview with Alison starting at 17:37.
We love the honesty shared in this piece around navigating the complexities of returning to work. It’s an important conversation to be had.
